Vehicle Description 1951 Chevy Rat Rod Pick-Up Purchased roughly 10 years ago from a place down south that specializes in these conversions, the current owner realized that what he purchased still needed some work to be street safe and a viable performance rig.
What he has is a 1951 Chevy 3100 Pick Up truck, situated on a 1990 Chevrolet S-10 chassis.
He purchased the truck already converted.
The current set-up is running a TBI 4.
3L V6 with less than 90K miles on it (according to what he was told when he purchased it) hooked to a 4L60 automatic transmission.
It has a single exhaust, routed out through a glass pack muffler.
Over the first several years of ownership, he replaced the lower A-arms, all steering components and bushings (tie-rods, steering links), added new springs and shocks, in the rear he replaced the shocks and did new brakes (Disc-F, Drums-R).
He added new tires and wheels (Riddler aluminum and Kumho 245/45 ZR18 Ecsta's in front and 275/40 ZR18's out back) and was planning on a V8 swap, when his daughter got into racing 1/4 midget cars, carts and a couple of other classes and since then his time has been totally focused on that.
The truck was relegated to a space in the back of the garage and aside from starting to move it around (and rarely take it for a quick blast down the road), it hasn't really been driven in the last couple of years.
It's now time to move it on to someone who will enjoy it the way it was designed.
The interior sports a custom Mexican blanket theme with door cards matching the seat material (it IS attached, not just thrown over the old seat).
The Dolphin Classic gauges he installed have not yet been hooked up to the S-10 computer.
All lights work.
The 4.
3L V6 has an AC compressor, so if someone wanted to source a condenser and some duct work they could have AC.
Truck currently does not have a heater set up.
It does have power steering and power brakes.
The truck starts right up and drives very well with the low center of gravity and the wide, sticky tires she drives almost like a sports car.
.
almost.
The body is rusty here and there.
.
but this is a Rat Rod truck, not a shiny, show truck.
Although currently equipped with the V6, a Chevy 350 V8, out of a 71 Nova (reportedly 255HP/280lbft) comes with the truck, along with a stained bed kit, shorty headers, new cab corner, headlight bezel and new windshield.
One can hop into this truck and start enjoying it immediately and then do the V8 swap and add on the other bits while enjoying it or, dive right in and swap in the V8, finish it and then go have fun.
Either way, with all the included parts, asking price is a negotiable $18,000.
